What is a model release?
If you have an image or licence to use an image, and it includes a recognisable person, you must have that person's permission and consent to use the image for advertising purposes. A model release is written evidence of this. If the image is to be used for editorial or non-advertising purposes a model release is usually not required. To view an example of a model release please click here.

What are Flat Rate images?
Image Search sells licences to use its images on a Flat Rate basis. This means the Client will not incur ongoing fees, the Client does not have to renew their licence at any time and prices are not based on how or where the Client uses the image (subject to Terms and Conditions).

What is Exclusive Use?
An Exclusive Use Licence means the image has not been, and will not be, licensed to any one else - therefore it grants the Client sole use of the image. We have licence records for all of our images and can advise whether exclusivity is available. Additional fees apply for an Exclusive Use Licence based on end use, print run/media placement. Please contact us if you wish to request Exclusive Use.

Can I purchase a licence to use an image that no one else can use?
Yes you can - if you wish to request an Exclusive Use Licence please contact us.

Before we can consider granting an Exclusive Use Licence you must advise:
1. the intended use of the Image(s)
2. the medium in which the Image(s) will be reproduced
3. the period of time during which use of the reproduction of the Image(s) is planned
4. the distribution area of the publication containing the reproduction of the Image(s)
5. the number of copies of the publication containing the image(s) to be printed
Once Image Search Ltd has been advised of the intended use of the image(s) we will advise the Client whether they will be permitted to use the Image(s), the cost of the Exclusive Use Licence and any additional terms and conditions.

Who are the contributing photographers?

JAY FARNWORTH
Jay's interest in photography started at a very young age, when he was given his first 35mm film camera. Since that time Jay has gone from 'just taking photos' to 'creating images'. In 2000 Jay completed a Certificate in Film and Television Production at the Auckland Film Institute. From there he gained experience as a camera assistant for TV 3 News and went on to work as a camera operator for the T.A.B Trackside Channel. Over the years Jay's focus has changed to still photography - specialising in advertising and editorial. In April 2007 Jay was awarded the honour and distinction of Licentiate of the Photographic Society of New Zealand arising from the recommendation of a panel of distinguished PSNZ members.

KAREN WILLIAMSON
Karen is primarily a self taught photographer, on a constant learning curve since the age of 13 in her journey with photography. She works in both the fine art and commercial arena. Karen combines her passion for photography with a love of travel to capture travel images at every opportunity. She also enjoys the challenge of macro and abstract shots, plus environmental portraiture and has a penchant for all things Kiwiana. In 2007 Karen was awared the distinction of Licentiate of the Photographic Society of New Zealand from the PSNZ. Future plans include publication in 2008 of her photographs in a travel book co-authored by herself and her husband. Karen is based in Warkworth. She gets the biggest enjoyment when someone else gets a buzz from viewing her images.
